SYNOPSIS

The film is set entirely on a shoot and tells the story of three characters. The Director Nouri, middle aged, is torn between his private life wich is falling apart and a film he is afraid of making, because although he is really invested with it, he cannot see it ending . The actor, Lotfi who accepted at the beginning, the principle of ignoring the fate of the character he plays, feels that he is being manipulated when he discovers that the dancer he is supposed to be interpreting is distined to become a fundamentalist.

He is afraid of the film and the stakes it carries and even refuses to go on with it. Finally the character he is pkaying. Bahta, run down by this kin, ill treated by his neighbours, sees his plan to leave for Europe to become a dancer, fall short because of the last war on Iraq. He ends up in the hands of a fishy predicator who manipulates him and brain washes him.

The film is being shot between Rades and La Goulette at the beginning of Spring 2003, just when Iraq is being invaded by the American army. All the characters feel humilated, wounded at the very core of their beings, by this war… The spectre of September 11th is floating over them. For Nouri, the only way out is to exorcise all this through fiction. Will they manage to overcome their fears and finish the film ?

Synopsis
In the 1940’s, Zakia, a young lady becomes addicted to poppy shortly after her mother gives her some to calm down the terrible pains of delivery. Zakia ends up in a sanatorium as she loses all her money and mind. There, she has to struggle alone with her past. Thanks to the friendship of Khemais, a man who presumably killed his wife; she regains her self-esteem and love for life.

Synopsis
“Bab El Arch” is the soft-bitter chronicle of a family from the Tunisian lower middle class. It’s also the portrait of Hamid, about thirty, journalist and still bachelor. Hamid has made from his celibacy a mean to escape from the social standards and, especially refuses to be in the block. Committed to the freedom of speech, he persists in proposing very critical articles that often come rejected.

Considered t o be immature, his courage is mistaken for imprudence.
The family decides without his agreement to marry Hamid to Rym, the neighbors’ daughter. Hamid could only escape the preparation for the wedding thanks to his friends and colleagues: Elyes, the photographer and Sara, his chief editor. Hamid through a desperate action, will leave alone his young wife on the night wedding and runs to publish a subversive article that will make him feel for first time free.

Synopsis
Summer time in Tunis, Hédi, a 22-year old adolescent, fails in his bachelorate exams for the third time. In the meanwhile, his father retires and is offered a summer stay in his boss’s house, that he would watch over in counter part. In spite of the protestations of the son, the family moves to a luxurious neighborhood.

Short after his arrival, Hedi is noticed by the so beautiful neighbor’s daughter. Not used to such a long absence, his friends decide to meet him in his new residence. Together they burst into the boss’s house disobeying the father’s strict orders.

Hédi starts to get familiar with the peaceful bourgeois life until the arrival of his brother Raouf. This latter offers him to win easy money, and seduces the beautiful woman and her father with his exuberance and with his very fashioned car.

Synopsis
Omrane, a former house servant about forty, provides the bourgeois Tunisian families with housewives whom he picks up from his home village (famous for its know – how of Berber pottery making). He stands for the guardian of the girls virtue and make sure that their families receive each month their daughter’s salaries.

Rebeh, the most exuberant among his recruits, is gradually attracted by the pleasures of life and by the wind of freedom, takes a French leave.
Omrane’s troubled conscience urges him to look for her through the city on his tricycle. He is accompanied by Fedhah, a nine- year old new recruit who is awaiting a job .

In this very her first trip in the city and away from home, she moldes the clay she keeps in her bundle of clothes, into dolls. Once she finishes, she crushes everything.
